We would like to welcome Michelle Nevett to our EPIC team as our new Health & Social Innovation Research Associate. She will be working as part of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE) Social Enterprise Partnership for Southwestern Ontario, funded by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Growth. Partners in this initiative, Pillar Nonprofit Network, Innovate Niagara, Huron Small Business Enterprise Centre, and EPICentre, will collaborate to develop and deliver activities catered to strengthen and support social enterprises across the Southwestern Ontario network. She will also be promoting health innovation across the University of Windsor and St. Clair College campuses through workshops, competitions, and networking events.
After completing her Ph.D in Biology at the University of Windsor, Michelle acquired the position of Research Commercialization Associate in the Technology Transfer Office in the Office of Research and Innovation. It was through this position that Michelle created ties with EPICentre. Since then, she has been involved with numerous EPICentre initiatives such as involvement in academic courses, as a EPICentre representative at various conferences, and competition development and planning. Michelle is enthusiastic to be a part of this wide-spread initiative and is looking forward to creating positive change, awareness, and support for health and social enterprises in Southwestern Ontario.
