On March 20, organizers of the University of Windsor’s undergraduate research conference kicked off a promotional campaign with help from one of EPICentre’s startups, Eigen Advertisements, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA Canada).
FCA Canada loaned three vehicles which were then outfitted with car-based advertisements designed by EPICentre startup company Eigen Advertisements, a company co-founded by 3rd-year student Connor Holowachuk. Eigen Ads offers advertising solutions for local businesses and provides a sharing economy model that allows for any driver on the roads to feature ads from local companies. This model allows businesses to advertise at much cheaper rates while drivers benefit by getting paid for featuring ads on their vehicles.
“We’re so grateful for this kind of collaborative effort that emerged between Eigen Ads, the EPICentre, the university and FCA Canada. It’s really a team effort and we’re here to celebrate the great work that our students are doing,” said Simon du Toit, the organizer of the UWill Discover conference.
The EPICentre is also very excited to be part of an initiative that encourages innovation and creativity. We provide resources and tools to help students and alumni turn their ideas or research into startups and a collaboration with the UWill Discover conference is a good fit.
The UWill Discover conference will be held on Friday, March 31st in the Ambassador Auditorium in the CAW Student Centre where over 70 undergraduate students will present their research. For more info, please visit: http://scholar.uwindsor.ca/uwilldiscover/2017/
