Odette School of Business Marketing professor, Dave Bussiere, engaged his undergraduate Sales Management and Marketing Management classes to put together a publication about Odette for distribution online and in print media. The class worked closely with the Windsor Star to put together the Odette Business Review, a special edition newspaper highlighting the Odette experience.
The sales management class took on the task of selling advertising space to local busnesses within the Windsor-Essex region, including EPICentre. This gave each student an opportunity to gain valuable real-life experience in the world of sales and advertising.
The advertising management class was responsible for gathering information for, and writing/editing each article, as well as creating the overall design and layout of the publication.
EPICentre worked with Adam Boismier, one of the sales management students, to feature an advertisement reaching out to the community in the publication. Dr. Bussiere said he was impressed with the way the students approached the challenge. Originally slated for 16 pages, the publication grew to 24 pages when ad sales exceeded expectations. “They really stepped up and made the most of this opportunity,” he said. “I’m going to have to find a different project next year to see if we can top this success.”
