Meet our Founders: North Ridge Greens

May 27, 2019in Blog 0 Comments

Company Name: North Ridge Greens
Founder: Matthew

EPICentre: Tell us a little more about yourself
M:
My name is Matthew Steckle, I am the founder of my business North Ridge Greens which is a vegetable farm and micro greenery, operating on the heart of Essex County. We care a lot about teaching people how to grow their own food and preserving world skills, that’s the values that sort of underpin the business that I’m trying to start.

EPICentre: How did you hear about the RBC EPIC Founders Program?
M: I was referred to the program by one of the previous participants Dane Fader, we’re friends and he told me that I should apply and try to explore this concept with you guys, so I did!

EPICentre: What skills do you hope to gain while you’re here?
M: Certainly my knowledge of entrepreneurial logic. How to think like a business person, communicate in the business world and how to communicate and persuade people to be part of my business and to work with me.

EPICentre: Where do you hope to see yourself by the end of the program?
M: We’re slowly sort of expanding so, the continual growth of the business would be the main goal here because things are sort of starting to flow and are underway. I guess more partnerships with local restaurants, the largest presence at the farmers market and maybe even in the future have a small community supported agriculture program where we will deliver food boxes to people in the community.
