Bob Hedrick of CAMufacturing Solutions, one of EPICentre’s incubator members, was nominated for the Woodie Flowers Award, presented to an outstanding Mentor in the robotics competition who best leads, inspires, teaches, and empowers their team using excellent communication skills. Bob was a finalist for the award at the FRC District Championship which was held in Mississauga from April 12-15, 2017.
The Woodie Flowers Award celebrates effective communication in the art and science of engineering and design. Dr. William Murphy founded this prestigious award in 1996 to recognize mentors who lead, inspire and empower using excellent communication skills.
Bob is the programming mentor for the St. Thomas of Villanova WiredCats Robotics Team #5885. Bob has been with the team since its inception in the 2016 season. The students nominated Bob for this prestigious award due to his willingness to teach programming, his patience and his enthusiasm for the team.
