EPICentre is hiring a Research Assistant for EPIC Makers’ Base

Details 
 Job responsibilities:
  • Research best practices and develop a sustainable programming strategy for the makerspace, including setting up workshops for the Make It & Take It workshop series
  • Research and execute standard operating procedures for makerspace
  • Assist makerspace’s members in prototype development using 3D printers or laser cutter and the general use of other equipment at the makerspace
  • Primary liaison between EPIC Makers’ Base and other internal and external stakeholders as well as potential members
 Work hours:
  • 15-20 hours a week
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends
  • 6 months contract, with a possibility of extension
 Essential qualification:
  • Graduate student or upper years undergraduate student
  • Must possess working knowledge in handling equipment and tools such as 3D printers, laser cutter, soldering etc.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
 Preferred qualification:
  • Knowledge in design and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Tinkercad, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Inkscape etc.
  • Experience and knowledge in industrial setting and equipment
  • Experience in workshop coordination
