On February 25th, EPICentre wrapped up another cohort of the EPIC Founders Accelerating 2020’s program funded by FedDev Ontario. Throughout the duration of the 4-month program, ventures utilized an immersive approach to the Lean Startup Methodology to bring their new product to reality. Program participants focused on customer discovery and problem / solution fit by gaining insight from potential customers (and competition) through hands-on training in survey creation and implementation, interview techniques, and focus groups. They then took those insights and crafted them into the first working versions of their ideas through the MVP / prototype process.
The virtual pitch program allowed each startup to present their business model to a panel of judges in hopes of winning the $3000 cash prize.
Congratulations to Jana Hallam, founder of bKind for winning the pitch competition!
We would also like to thank our EPIC judging panel, Lauren Makaric, Business Account Manager, RBC ,Shelley Fellows, Chair, Board of Directors, Automate Canada and Frank Abbruzzese, CEO & President, AlphaKOR Group.
