The University of Windsor and the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) is proud to announce that Dr. Sushil Jain, President of the South Asian Centre of Windsor, has generously donated $10,000 in support of EPICentre’s EPIC Blue Sky Competition.
The EPIC Blue Sky Competition is an innovative, 2-minute video competition, showcasing an idea to solve any problem amongst teams of two to four students from at least two different disciplines from the University of Windsor or St. Clair College. A panel of UWindsor alumni and entrepreneurs will judge the videos, and the top three winning teams will receive a cash prize for their responses to the identified problem, their research, the solution, the team contributions and the quality of their video. Additionally, at least $500 per year will be made available through an application process open to competitor winners for use in moving forward with their innovative idea. The competition allows students to think creatively, work across disciplines to find a solution to a problem, and present their pitch with clarity and confidence.
The prizes for the EPIC Blue Sky Competition have been named The Sushil Jain UWin Triple I Awards. Ultimately, the competition is meant to have students improve, innovate or invent a product or service. The prizes will be awarded as follows:
- 1st Place: $1,000, plus an additional $500 if the winner is interested in pursuing their idea beyond the competition
- 2nd Place: $750
- 3rd Place: $500
Additionally, the top three teams will be awarded with a trip to Toronto to attend the Ontario Centre of Excellence Discovery Conference.
We would like to thank Dr. Sushil Jain for his support of EPICentre and the University of Windsor.
