The Office of Human Rights, Equity, and Accessibility is pleased to announce the 2021 Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) student competition at UWindsor. The IDeA competition is held annually and is designed to challenge our students to develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to address accessibility issues that affect persons with disabilities. By participating in the IDeA competition, our students gain valuable learning experiences, while contributing to expanding the accessibility culture on campus and beyond.
All UWindsor students are eligible to enter alone or as a group. Ideas created and developed as a part of course work may also be entered. All entrants will participate in making their “pitch” to the judging panel where they will explain their idea and how it would eliminate a barrier to accessibility for a chance to win cash prizes up to $500. No physical prototype is required for entry, this competition is designed for students to present their idea in the best way possible.
The competition opens on October 28th, 2020, and closes on January 29th, 2021 at 12:00 pm (EST). The judging panel will take place on February 11th, 2021.
