3D Print Innovative Devices for Accessible Healthcare

EPICentre has partnered with Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare to deliver Print for Healthcare. This competition invites all students and community members to form multidisciplinary teams to research and identify a need for a new or improved device that would benefit any healthcare field. Teams will then design, print, and develop a short business plan for their device over the course of 1 month. Enter your team by November 9, 2018 by clicking the Entry Form button below

Purpose

  1. To highlight 3D printing as a tool for custom, fast, and cost-effective prototyping and construction in healthcare
  2. To educate how to create innovative technologies and implement them into healthcare practice

Competition Timeline

1. Kickoff Event – Wednesday, October 31st

2. Application Due Date – Wednesday, November 9th

3. Final Pitch – Monday, December 3rd

***Please Note: You can still apply for the Print for Healthcare Competition without attending the Kickoff Event***

Kick-off Event Breakfast in the “HUB” : Join us for a light breakfast in the EPIC Industrial Hub. This event will help put the entire competition into perspective, provide you with more education about 3D printing in healthcare, introduce you to leading healthcare professionals, companies, and 3D printers in our area. This is also a great opportunity to begin brainstorming device ideas for the competition while also forming your multidisciplinary team! Please register here

Final Pitch: The Final Pitch will be held at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. Teams will showcase their devices, research, and short business plans to judges from healthcare, funders, and local businesses. Please register here

Eligibility

Competition is open to students and community members in Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Detroit and surrounding areas

• Teams must consist of 2-4 members

• Teams are strongly encouraged to consist of members from different disciplines
