Brief Description Like many areas, accounting has its own language, words and concepts. You didn’t found a startup to do accounting, right? And yet, you’re a business owner as well as a founder and since accounting is the language of business, it’s good to know some of the core accounting principles. Not to mention that banks, investors and others expect it too. Crunching the numbers can feel overwhelming. But without the proper preparation and tracking, not having the right cash flow clarity can be the difference between you being a thriving business and closing your doors.
What we’ll cover · What startup companies should know in accounting · What are expenses and can be claimed as business expenses · What are revenues and how do you “bill” your customers · Applicable taxes for running a business (income tax for owners and employees, HST, etc.)
