Description This FREE workshop will give attendees a general walkthrough of the elements required for trademarking. Law and Technology Lab (LTECLab) students will use hypothetical examples to help walk attendees through a general demonstration of how to conduct a very basic trademark search. With special guest Michal Kasprowicz, Associate at DLA Piper (Canada) LLP.
Workshop programme will cover: Attendees will also be provided with takeaway literature which will include a basic step-by-step guide on how to conduct a trademark analysis with a focus on patent and trademark litigation.
Skill Level: Beginner
Special Guest Speaker: Michal Kasprowicz, Associate at DLA Piper (Canada) LLP. Michal has represented clients at all stages of the litigation process: providing pre-litigation opinions, drafting court filings, attending at discovery, preparing expert reports, arguing motions, and appearing at mediations and trials. Building on his technical background, Michal has participated in intellectual property disputes encompassing electronics, lottery systems, mining, recreational vehicles, playground equipment, and commercial products.
