Description What’s the difference between a speaker who instantly captures audience attention versus one who loses audience focus very quickly? Most likely it’s a set of nonverbal behaviours, including gestures and vocal intonation, which conveys excitement and passion for the pitch they are presenting.
What we’ll cover In this workshop, participants will learn the specific nonverbal skills and behaviours required to “pitch with passion”, including: 1. Eye contact 2. Speaking directly to audience 3. Hand and Body Gestures 4. Facial expressions 5. Smiling and Humour 6. Pausing 7. Vocal intonation, pitch, tone 8. Movement around the room
Goal We have 2 main goals we hope you gain from this workshop: 1. Learn the basics of speaker passion and enthusiasm. 2. Improve the quality of your pitch presentation.
Materials Needed It is highly recommended you bring a note pad and pen to take lots of notes!
Audience This workshop is meant for anyone looking to give a presentation pitch! This event is free and open to any student, recent graduate or community member!
