EPICentre celebrates with two Alumni meet-ups in Toronto

Alumni Toronto

On April 27th, the MBA/JD Student Society, EPICentre, the Odette School of Business, and the University of Windsor Faculty of Law held an inaugural MBA/JD Alumni Celebration at the National Club in Toronto. The goal of the event was to celebrate the accomplishments of the University of Windsor MBA/JD alumni, while reconnecting with former professors and colleagues. The celebration highlighted the fact that alumni from the MBA/JD program have become entrepreneurial leaders in their respective fields. To facilitate this discussion, a panel of speakers shared how their MBA/JD degree supported them in their careers.

  1. James Johnson: Managing Partner at Signal Hill Equity Partners
  2. Allen J. Gelkopf: Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP
  3. Wendi Locke: Partner at McCarthy Tetrault LLP
  4. David Mueller: Director of Corporate Development and Legal Counsel at Valiant Corporation

Following the MBA/JD Networking Evening, EPICentre hosted an Enterprising Alumni Networking Breakfast on the morning of Friday, April 28th. This event brought together past students from:

  • Centre for Business Advancement and Research (CBAR)
  • Intellectual Property Legal Information Network (IPLIN)
  • Centre for Enterprise and Law (CEL)
  • Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Clinic (LTEC)
  • EPIC Odette Consulting
  • Enterprise Development Consulting

These programs offered experiential learning opportunities for business and law students, allowing them to work as consultants for local businesses and entrepreneurs. These courses were taught under the supervision of the following Odette School of Business and Faculty of Law professors: Dr. Francine Schlosser, Professor Myra Tawfik, Dr. Gerry Kerr, Dr. Jonathan Lee, Professor Wissam Aoun, Professor Roger Bryan, and Professor Jim Marsh.

The event began with remarks from Dr. Francine Schlosser, as well as Dean Christopher Waters. Alumni had the opportunity to network with old classmates and enjoyed a breakfast at The National Club. We look forward to our next event on September 21st in Windsor.
