EPIC Genesis celebrates collaboration with launch party

EPIC Genesis Launch

History was made on April 20, 2017 with the launch of the new EPIC Genesis Centre. The University of Windsor has partnered with St. Clair College to provide an entrepreneurship space for college and university students to develop and build their business ideas. This collaboration will provide a broader range of services and resources that will enhance the entrepreneurial spirit at the College.  The new agreement will help foster and build new and exciting relationships between students, faculty and senior administration from both institutions.

EPIC Genesis also highlighted two new and exciting startups this year. St. Clair student, Ryan Nantais, developed his business idea at the college over the course of the last two semesters and has recently launched his company, Chance Coffee. Ryan has developed his company as a micro batch speciality coffee. Another student, Aurora Fowler, has developed a stylish Yoga bag that will meet the needs of Yoga enthusiasts with style and practicality. Aurora has started to work with local suppliers, sourcing a variety of materials for her product.

Further, St. Clair’s Entrepreneurship Club, which operates out of the EPIC Genesis Centre, was awarded as the “Most Active Club” this year for all of the events they have planned for students. The Entrepreneurship Club teamed up with EPIC Genesis and hosted a variety of activities such as International Nights, Mock Interviews and Guest Speakers. EPIC Genesis allows students to participate in business planning sessions, networking events and personal branding sessions.

The President of the Entrepreneurship Club at St. Clair, Megs Kubis, said “We are so honoured and thankful to have received recognition as the “most active club” this year. We have been fortunate enough to have so many engaged and enthusiastic members who continually went above and beyond with their commitments to the success of the Entrepreneurship Club. This year we worked diligently to create shared value experiences for both domestic and international students through speaker sessions, workshops, fundraisers and our International Night events. The opportunity has created many learning experiences for me and encouraged me to grow, both professionally and personally. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with our industrious executive team, our facilitator and the Student Representative Council, our incredibly supportive faculty and of course our dynamic members. We are looking forward to creating more value for students on campus and for the community.”
